As For Me…
“As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.” Psalm 17:15
The phrase “as for me” really jumped out at me recently when I heard it in a message, and later read it again. After doing a little research on the phrase as well as thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that when “as for me” is said, it usually means that the person is taking some kind of a stand. For instance, we find Joshua using this phrase in speaking to the people of Israel. Joshua 24:15, “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” In other words, Joshua is saying something like this, “I don’t know about the rest of you, but me and my family are going with God.” To be able to say something like this takes courage and acknowledging the fact that “though none go with me, still I will follow”!
If you haven’t already, you need to realize you CANNOT please EVERYONE! So, why worry yourself over trying to please everyone when you should be striving to please the ONE that matters most, Jesus Christ? Don’t be afraid to take a stand in order to please HIM!
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
No turning back, No turning back
Though none go with me still I will follow
Though none go with me still I will follow
Though none go with me still I will follow
No turning back, No turning back
The world behind me, the Cross before me
The world behind me, the Cross before me
The world behind me, the Cross before me
No turning back, No turning back
