If We Were A Bible Character – Obadiah
If we were a Bible character; our life, men had read.
From the pages of Scripture, just what would be said?
If God were writing our profile today,
To record in His Word; just what would it say?
I haven’t written a Bible character post for a while, but I just can’t pass up this simple thought:
“And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly: For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)” I Kings 18:3,4
It is so easy to say that we fear God. But, imagine living in the house of Ahab and Jezebel. Being in that atmosphere continually, would God be able to say that we feared Him? I think living with Jezebel…and Ahab…would be a pretty good test of our spiritual steadfastness. The passage above is a great reminder that, no matter how wicked our surroundings…by God’s grace, we can still live for Him!
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13
