Strength For The Downhearted…

A little “heart thought” on this Valentine’s Day Eve – from today’s Proverbs…

“Hope deferred maketh the heart sick…”  Proverbs 13:12

As the above verse indicates, one reason for downheartedness is what we perceive as a delay in an expected answer. Perhaps we have been praying about a certain situation, we believe the Lord has given us a promise, we cling to that promise…but as time goes by our hope seems to fade as our heart begins to sink.

We must remember that placing our hope in God not only means trusting Him to keep His promises, but also trusting His perfect timing in the fulfillment of promises.

His work is perfect – “He is the Rock, his work is perfect…” Deuteronomy 32:4

His way is perfect – “As for God, his way is perfect…”II Samuel 22:31

And He is always right on time.

“Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.” Psalm 31:24
