#Judgenot…And Other Hashtags To Consider
(Note: The author is by no means declaring that this post applies to all who use the hashtag #judgenot in their social media. That being said, the following is just one portion of an issue that has been heavy on my heart.)
As you know if you have been following this past week’s posts, the girls and I have been looking a little closer at the characteristics of charity as found in I Corinthians 13. As I posted today’s characteristic – charity seeketh not her own – it went right along with a discussion a few of us had last evening. The earlier post as well as last night’s discussion have prompted the following – something that has my heart burdened:
To those professing Christians who, through various avenues of social media, post writings concerning their new-found liberties (with or without questionable pictures)…followed by the hashtag #judgenot – what is your purpose? To glorify God? Apparently, by your hashtag, you feel there is a possibility that someone may judge you. Could this be an indication of guilt?
While pondering this, I’ve thought of a few hashtags – I wonder if they would be appropriate for your posts…

I admit, I am very grieved at the attitude as well as direction of some professing Christians. Their words and actions testify of an attitude of pride and selfishness. Their direction, away from the biblical doctrine of separation. May I remind you, one mark of maturity is making decisions while considering the effects those decisions will have on our loved ones, friends, neighbors, and a lost and dying world.
Now, I leave you with one final hashtag – as a sincere plea:
#consideryourways
