I Want To Be Faithful

As our oldest daughter and I were talking on the phone today, I mentioned to her a particular young missionary family that, Lord willing, will be attending our missions conference. We have known the family for probably close to 15 years and Courtney’s response to the news was how it was a blessing to hear of those who are remaining faithful to the Lord and His work. She then gave an example of another missionary that Christopher had just been in touch with recently. Courtney’s first memories of this missionary go back about 25 years when we had him in our home for a meal during our missions conference. He and his family have been serving faithfully in Maine all these years! I thank the Lord for their faithfulness. I thank the Lord for the encouragement that this missionary family as well as other faithful servants are to this younger generation of Christians who are striving to serve the Lord.

Are our lives an encouragement or discouragement to others? We never know who is watching – who remembers us – who is being influenced by our example. Let’s just be faithful!!!
