Burying The Past & Moving Forward
An excellent reminder this morning from our pastor…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Philippians 3:13 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,”
It has been said, “Regret is an appalling waste of energy. You can’t build on it; it’s only good for wallowing in.”
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times – you just can’t unscramble eggs! Unfortunately, one of the greatest obstacles for people moving forward is that they can’t get over past mistakes and failures. Paul said the only way to reach forward for things in the future is to cut the strings of our past. Just remember this – our God is the God of fresh starts and new beginnings. At salvation, we become new creatures which give us a new start. Afterward, if we mess up (and we will) there is 1 John 1:9.
The moral of the story is this – bury your past and move forward into your future with God. Most likely it’s brighter than you could ever imagine!
