Planted
“Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.” Psalm 92:13-15
Thinking about the above verses this morning. A question that is often asked young people is:
“Where do you see yourself in 5 years…10 years…20 years, etc.”
I don’t know of any young person that would not want to imagine themselves as being successful. I can’t picture a young adult saying, “In 20 years, I hope I can say I have lived a wasted life thus far.”
For Christians, the above verses give a very important key to living a fruitful life – being planted in the house of the Lord! How important is church to you? Would others say, by your actions as well as attitude, that you have PLANTED yourself in the work of the Lord? That should be the desire of any truly born-again believer. If that is not your case, may I urge you to find a good KJV Bible-believing, Bible-preaching church where you can get behind your pastor and not only serve but GROW! According to the above verses, the individual who plants themselves NOW will continue to be fruitful in their old age. My friend, THAT is my heart’s desire…what about you? In your golden years, will your children…your grandchildren be able to see in you a life of FAITHFULNESS…a life of FRUITFULNESS…for HIS glory?? As the last verse above says, “To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.” If the Lord allows you to live to old age, will you be able to look back on your life and testify of the uprightness…the steadfastness…the righteousness of God?
“O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.” Psalm 71:17,18
