Mom’s Backyard Birthday Picnic
Recently, Mom has mentioned several times her desire to have a picnic in her backyard – and “watch the kids play”. Her birthday seemed the perfect opportunity to make this happen so that’s what we did! Even though part of her family had already taken her out on her birthday, we had a second celebration last Saturday. (At 93 years of age, I think several celebrations are in order…wouldn’t you agree?) 🙂
Although the temperatures were HOT, the Lord sent a breeze throughout the afternoon for which we were VERY thankful! My sister, Frankie, surprised Mom by inviting several long-time friends as well! The older cousins enjoyed a game of kickball while the younger cousins’ wading pool was a big hit…followed by rolling down the freshly mowed hill. Can anyone say “MESS”? 🙂
