Ladies Meeting – Hold The Fluff
Years ago, our family would occasionally eat at a local family buffet. At that time, our children were still small so it was a great place to fill them up for little or no cost! One of the food items available was what we called “pink fluff” – something light and airy to satisfy that sweet tooth when you couldn’t quite find room for a heavier dessert.
Now, pink fluff was not something you could eat all of the time and survive. No, this “delicacy” was not meant to sustain an individual. On the contrary, pink fluff only added a little light treat at the end of a tasty meal.
This past weekend, we were truly blessed in our ladies meeting and as I have continued to “chew on” various truths that spoke to my heart, there is something that continues to resonate in my mind:
I’m very thankful that we were not served pink fluff this past Friday and Saturday.
I fear that the popular mindset these days among Christian circles is that ladies don’t need to be challenged and yes, convicted. A little pink fluff is ok here and there but you know what? I can’t survive on pink fluff and neither can any other Christian. When it comes to our spiritual food, may our heart’s desire be – “Feed me…challenge me…convict me…but – hold the fluff.”
