More Than You’ll Ever Know

The Lord woke me up this morning with the following song running through my mind. Then, my Bible reading included Psalm 42:8…

“Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.”

(How very thankful I am for those times that God gives me a song in the night!)

This morning, as we read the lyrics below, what does Christ mean to us? Is He really our life and breath? The first verse of Psalm 42 says, “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.”  Do we really pant after God as a thirsty deer would pant for water? As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus here in a few days, what is He to us? Is He just a sweet little Babe in a manger, or is He our Saviour? …our Comforter? …our Guide? …our Deliverer? …our Teacher? …our Strength? …our Refuge? …our Sustenance? …our Healer? …our Counsellor? …our Peace? …etc. Is December 25th the only time we acknowledge Him?…or is He really our life and breath…the One on Whom our life depends? If someone would ask us today what Christ means to us, what could we honestly say?

More Than You’ll Ever Know

If I could find the right words to say
To tell you just what Christ means to me
I’d say He is more than I could show
And more than you’ll ever know

Christ means more to me than you’ll ever know
Christ means more to me than I could possibly show
More, more, so much more, He’s more than you’ll ever know

If you could have seen me before He saved me
You’d know why He’s life and He’s breath to me
You’d know why He’s more than I could show
And more than you’ll ever know

Christ means more to me than you’ll ever know
Christ means more to me than I could possibly show
More, more, so much more, He’s more than you’ll ever know
