Following Jesus Into The House
“And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. And their eyes were opened…” Matthew 9:27:30
This morning, I am thankful for the reminder that we do not weary the Lord with our importunate praying – He DESIRES for us to cry out to Him! He DESIRES for us to bring our petitions to Him! He DESIRES for us to “follow Him into the house” and continue asking until an answer is given! Below is a portion of Matthew Henry’s comments which were a blessing to me…
“Christ’s doors are always open to believing and importunate petitioners; it seemed rude in them to rush into the house after him, when he desired to retire; but, such is the tenderness of our Lord Jesus, that they were not more bold than welcome.” ~ Matthew Henry
This morning, have you stopped at the door – afraid to bother the Lord? May I encourage you to follow Him on into the house? He’s waiting to welcome you.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
