I Prayed For Aaron
“And the LORD was very angry with Aaron to have destroyed him: and I prayed for Aaron also the same time.” Deuteronomy 9:20
The above verse is a very small portion of Moses speaking to the Children of Israel as he recounts their various rebellions in the wilderness. The phrase that stood out to me this morning was, “I prayed for Aaron”. In the midst of God’s anger toward the Israelites as a whole, He was also specifically angry with Aaron for leading the people into idolatry. What was Moses’ reaction to God’s anger?
Moses prayed for Aaron.
With that phrase still on my mind, I turned to the New Testament to begin reading where I left off yesterday in Galatians and my eyes fell on the following verse:
“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.” Galatians 6:1
This morning, is there someone that comes to our minds that needs our prayer? According to the above verse, spiritual people attempt to restore fallen Christians – knowing that they could fall flat on their faces at any time.
“Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” I Corinthians 10:12
