Making Preparations!
“But withal prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.” Philemon 22
The above verse caught my eye this morning. Paul is writing from prison, requesting that Philemon prepare a place for him to stay. The apostle believed that the prayers of the saints had been answered and he would soon be released! I can imagine Paul saying,
“Philemon – wash the sheets, make up the bed, set another place at the table…I’ll see you shortly!”
There is a little saying that goes something like this…
>>> Prayer is asking for rain; Faith is carrying an umbrella <<<
I wonder…when Hannah left the temple that day, did she go home and begin making preparations? Did she begin working on a little blanket for the baby that God had promised? (I Samuel 1)
In II Kings, we read of Elisha instructing the kings to begin digging ditches in preparation for a miracle:
“And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches. For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.” II Kings 3:16,17
This morning, is it time to move forward by taking our faith one step further? This morning, is it time to begin making preparations for our answered prayer?
