Another Soldier of the Cross Gone Home
Last night, I received news that another Soldier of the Cross had gone on home to see his Saviour face to face. As my friend put it, “Br. Sammy Allen’s faith became sight”. Only the Lord knows the impact that this Man of God had on the lives of others.
Personally, I learned from him the importance of being still and sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading. I witnessed praying at a whole new level. I count it an honor, when attending Faith Baptist Camp, to have been in the presence of such a mighty prayer warrior and man of the Word.
For my family, my children loved Br. Allen and he loved them! They loved going to Faith Baptist Camp. Our sons had the opportunity to preach there. Our oldest daughter met her husband there. One of our grandsons is named after Br. Allen. Another grandson was privileged to meet and hear Br. Allen preach this year.
I must admit, my heart is sad today. I can’t help but wonder – who will pick up the mantle? Who will continue on in the old paths of Br. Allen, Br. Ballew, Br. Bobby, and others who have gone on recently? They fought a good fight. They finished their course. They kept the faith.
