Pizza Dough Recipe!
We’ve been promising to post this super easy pizza dough recipe for a while now. Since we plan to make homemade pizza tomorrow evening with a couple of our lil’ buddies, we thought we would go ahead and share the details this evening. We actually came across the recipe during the first weeks of the Covid quarantine (who else went through a time of “Covid baking”??) and have really enjoyed using the dough for a few other baked goods as well. In this post, we will give instructions for pizza and pepperoni rolls.
First, the recipe (adapted from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe pizza dough recipe)
Pizza Dough
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 1 Tbsp yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 2-3 cups all-purpose flour
Garlic Butter (for pepperoni rolls)
- 4 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tsp garlic powder
For dough, mix water, sugar, oil, yeast, and salt in a stand mixer on low setting. Increase setting by one and gradually add flour until dough forms. Dough will be soft but not sticky to touch so add just enough flour to get this consistency.
Knead for about 3 minutes (our mixer settings are from 1-6 and we set it on 3 to knead).
Cover bowl with clean cloth napkin or kitchen towel and let rest for 10 minutes.
Spread dough on pizza pan sprayed with cooking spray. Add your favorite pizza sauce and toppings and bake at 500 degrees for 11-12 minutes (or until crust is golden brown).
For pepperoni rolls, pinch off pieces of dough about the size of a golf ball. Stretch to an oblong shape and layer pepperoni on dough. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, fold in the ends and fold like a burrito. Place, fold side down, on baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Brush on garlic butter and bake @ 375 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with your favorite pizza or marinara sauce.
