Fresh Start!
Is anyone else EXCITED about a NEW YEAR?? 🤗 I think this has become my FAVORITE time…I LOVE fresh starts!!
I think the girls are catching the fever too! We have all been looking at new Bible reading schedules, planners, to-do lists, new devotional books, etc. as well as looking forward to new goals for 2023.
A Bible reading “schedule” that I have done for years now is really very simple. Each morning, I read 6 pages in the Old Testament and 2 pages in the New Testament. I always end my reading with the Proverb that coincides with the date of the month. Following this “plan” takes me through the Bible twice a year…with days left over. When I get to the end, I just start over. Because of this, I’m usually not starting in Genesis on January 1. (I’m currently in the books of Joshua and Matthew)
The other day I was thinking back to when I actually started using this “new plan” and I THINK I started it when I got a new Bible – in 1998 or 1999. I’m not sure…but I think that’s when it was. If that is indeed the case, that means I’ve had the privilege of reading God’s Word through well over 46 times!
Does that make me a Bible scholar? Not hardly!!! 😁 I stumble through Leviticus like most people…as well as MANY other passages. BUT…I am very thankful for the new little nuggets of Truth that the Holy Spirit shows me along the way…as well as the continual reminders of well-known passages.
Are you ready for a new year? Ready or not, it’s coming! By God’s grace, let’s determine to make 2023 the best year yet – for HIS glory! ❤️
